NORTHERN IRELAND
The partners in True Colours (also known as TCI Cables) originally trained in mechanical and electrical engineering and for many years designed not just electronics but bespoke cables. Their particular speciality was designing for the aerospace and telecommunications industries. However, they shared a common interest in hi-fi and formulated many designs for both integrated components and state-of-the-art interconnects. Although technology had forged ahead in many other areas, the partners were disillusioned at how little the hi-fi industry had changed. Except for exterior makeovers and some improvement in DAC technology, the industry had remained very static.
So eventually, in 1997, a new specialist division was formed to manufacture and distribute cables designed in-house. A particular emphasis was given to fidelity products and a dedicated range was formulated for in-home, studio, car and boat applications. Very shortly it established itself in the marketplace, competing head-to-head with the major players. Today the company is one of the most highly regarded in the industry. With one of the most diverse product ranges, it has won award after award for quality of design, construction and performance.
